I would like to do a puppetry workshop if anyone is interested in that…Or maybe a performance work shop??? Or I could combine them? What do yous think about that?

I think that the puppetry workshop would be cool and I think that combining it with a performance workshop would be great. Here are a couple spoken word pieces off youtube definitely check out the Saul Williams and Shihan performances!

Hey heyy!! I think puppetry is a great performance idea.

For this i was thinking of doing Hip Hop Yoga. It’s a lesson plan that I teach with the company I work for. It’s a mixture between dance, (don’t worry you don’t need to know how to hiphop dance good) and yoga. It’s learning a little bit of yoga poses and then choreographing your own routine with a group. SUper fun.. what do you think??

I also thought it would be a lot of fun to do Spoken word. I don’t know too much about it- but I am sure we can whip something up. I am taking this Writing with The Body class and I can put together a lesson plan using body movement exercises and writing. Then, obviously if we have time, each student can perform their writing.

I dont know thoughts?! feel free to shot me down.

Hey guyys! SO trying to find everyone’s email addresses are impossible, so I am going to post on this, and hopefully when i see everyone tonight we can convene and discuss.

SO I was thinking of changing the layout of our presentation tomorrow. Performance takes up a lot of time, especially teaching, so I am thinking of cutting Hip Hop Yoga out of the Lesson Plan. INSTEAD maybe I an lead the class in some movement/mind exercises int he beginning to get everyone warmed up and moving for the lesson plans?? How does that sound. Should only like about 10 minutes. I just think trying to cram mine and Rachel’s dance lesson together will be impossible.

And then, it might be easiest to then flow right into Rachel’s dance lesson, then do spoken word (since our bodies are all warmed up, we are giggling, and blood is flowing to the brain- that is when the best creative thoughts come out right?!) and then we can do a cool down performance with Jasmine’s Puppetry.

Let me know what you think. Maybe tonight or sometime tomorrow before we perform we can just share with each other our lesson plan so we are all on the same page.
